Jing's dancing career began at age 12 when she was selected for full time study at professional art school which she attended for four years. She also gained a university degree and post-graduate diploma in dance from the Beijing Arts University Post Graduate School . This included a sabbatical in Paris to study European Art. She joined the Southern Regional Division of the Chinese Army where she spent seven years, becoming a lead dancer and attaining the rank of captain. During this time she spent a period on active service and she also danced for the Chinese Central Army Command. Jing has danced professionally, taught and choreographed for her whole career.
